Truthful Tuesday: Is God Really That Important To Me?

Ask yourself this question: Is God really as important to me as I say He is?

 

Is He really? I had to pause last night & ask myself that. We say things like "God is the head of my life" or "God is my everything", but in reality it doesn't seem like it. There are so many things that distract us from Him. We spend a lot of time on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, on the phone, etc., but only spend a short amount of time reading God's word & praying.

I raise my hand because I have been guilty of this & God has convicted me about it. I know I'm not the only one, so let's change this together. It's important that we spend more of our day hearing from God & reading His word. It's easy to get distracted by these things, but we have the power to not give in into temptation.

So let's pray this prayer: Oh gracious Father, forgive me. Forgive me for everytime that I've placed something else ahead of you. Lord, I love you, but I want to show you that more. Help me to focus more on you & not other things. I realize that you want more of my time & I'm willing to give it to you. You are more important, Jesus, so I'm going to act like you are. Thank you so much for hearing me. In Jesus's name I pray. Amen.

 

God gives us attention because we are important to Him, so let's show Him the same. I encourage you to take time out today & spend it with God. That spare time that you use to tweet or post a status, use it to talk to Jesus. Show Him that He is important in your life like you say He is. He wants you completely.
