Girl, Who Are You?

Take a look in the mirror & who do you see? You might say "me", but are you sure? Take a deeper look this time & tell me who do you see? Yes, you see yourself, but is she the girl that God has called her to be?
It's so easy to get so caught up in doing things because we want to fit in that we lose sense of who we are as individuals. Girls on the T.V. wear tight clothes, so you do the same. All of the girls that get attention are the ones that wear weaves & makeup, so you do the same. Everybody is in "love", so you spend the majority of your time trying to find a guy so that you can be just like them. Everybody is twerking & getting wasted, so you do the same. While you're trying to be like everyone else, that person that you call you is starving. No positive things, no career goals, no educational goals, & most importantly, no real relationship with Christ. She is literally dying more & more everyday.
You spend the most of your time trying to be "the baddest chick". You spend a lot of your time partying with your "friends". You curse, listen to the latest garbage, I mean music, & smoke weed because you want to fit in, but truth is you're slowly dying. You're empty & you know that you are, but all of that stuff has you whipped. You're so addicted to fitting in that you wouldn't even be yourself to save your self. You would rather die being like everyone else than being yourself. You no longer have your own identity, it's someone else's.
I don't want you to miss what God has for you because you want others to accept you. I don't want you to miss being that business woman because you meet up with this no good guy & end up getting pregnant at 16. I don't want you to spend so much time being some boy's "wifey" when you are meant to be a man's wife. I don't want you to smoke weed to have fun with your "friends" & then you become an addict. Stop trying to be "bout that life" & do something with your life! I really just want you to understand that you were made for something greater. Trying to be like everyone else has you lost. You're not getting better every day, you're actually getting worse.

"There's a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12)

Don't kill yourself or starve your dreams because you want to fit in. Please, understand that there is a reason why God gave you your own DNA. You were not born to be somebody else. If that was the case, then your DNA would be the EXACT same as someone else's. Twins don't even have the exact same DNA because they are two different individuals! The only way that I've been successful is because I chose to be different & I chose to live my life for Christ. Since then, He has not failed me yet!
I want you to do a life check. I want you to sit down & examine your life. Examine everything that you do, the people around you, the music that you listen to, & your relationship with Christ. Be honest & ask yourself these questions,
1.Who am I?
2. Do my friends push me to do better, or do they pressure me?
3. What do I spend the majority of my time doing?
4. How much does the opinion of others determine my actions?
5. Is my relationship with God where it should be?

Realize that there is so much more to life than the things that you see. Realize that there is something inside of you that has the ability to change lives. Beat the odds & be yourself. You cannot reach your highest potential until you realize that your identity is found in Christ. Please don't let your dreams & goals die because you want to be like someone else. No, feed them by spending time reading God's word & finding out who you are in Him. Make a decision to stop trying to please people & please God. Live for Christ & let Him change your world into something great.
